WNC radio technology and protocols
The WNC radio network is based on the license free ISM frequency bands. For these frequencies, WNC has developed a packet-based communication protocol with support for automatic retransmission of lost data packets. Both point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, and mesh network communication are supported. Data transmission is duplex, meaning that data can be transmitted both uplink, from the radio nodes, as well as downlink to the radio nodes. The 2-way communication gives the possibility to send commands to - and update SW in the remote nodes. In addition it enables a more secure radio link through acknowledgement and re-transmission procedures.
