Cost effective sensors for monitoring processes within manufacturing plants have been available for long time. However, the labour cost for installing and commission such monitoring networks have been high 
due to all the cables and wires needed. Expansions and modifications of existing monitoring networks have been difficult for the same reasons. The consequence has been that monitoring and control systems have not been applied to full scale, which has led to lower efficiency and higher failure rates within different industrial processes.
WNC has developed a wireless monitoring system that overcomes the harsh environment within an industrial plant, and make it possible to collect and treat plant information that previously could not be retrieved economically.
