Digital-in for HACCP applications

The digital-in function is useful for a range of different applications, for example ir-detector, magnetic switch, door detectors etc.

Examples of digital-in applications:

 magnetic switch                                            ir-detector              door detector

Some details:

The input is sampled once pr second, and can thus register pulses of minimum 1s duration, with at least one second distance. (<1/2 Hz) The pulses are registered and added into a counter, where the state of the input is reflected by the least significant bit (bit0). The rest of the bits, (bit1 and upwards) reflects the number of pulses that has been registered. This "counter" value is reported at a predefined interval.

The digital input must be connected to a potential free switch (relay contact or similar). If only one input is in use on the same sensor node, the battery operated radio connection is a perfect galvanic isolation. Because of this, one input can be used even if the switch is not isolated. (Open drain or open collector output).

If there is a need for higher input frequencies and shorter delay times, WNC can also deliver a digital input sensor, that can handle several inputs and outputs at a higher frequency.

The sensor interfaces can be tailored to customer specific needs.
